Honor recently unveiled the Honor 100 series of smartphones in China, and rumors suggest that the brand is working on GT-branded devices for the domestic market. A Chinese leaker has shared new details about when Honor will hold its next launch event and what to expect from it.
According to the leaker, the Honor 90 GT and Honor X50 GT smartphones are expected to be announced in the coming week in China. The launch event is tentatively scheduled for December 21 in the home market.
Reports indicate that the Honor 90 GT will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and will compete with the Redmi K70. The X50 GT, on the other hand, is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The company is also expected to unveil the Honor Tablet 9 during the same event. However, there is limited information available about the new tablet at present.
The GT-series smartphones are said to be optimized for top-notch performance. Reports suggest that the devices could come equipped with up to 24GB of RAM, an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support on the back, and a plastic middle frame. While the exact battery capacity is unknown, it is expected to support 100W fast charging.
In other news, Honor has confirmed its partnership with Porsche Design studio. Speculation suggests that the Magic 6 Porsche Design Edition will be the first product of this collaboration, launching in January 2024. The Magic V3 foldable phone is also expected to have a premium Porsche Design variant.
