Honor was expected to announce the Honor V40 series in December. In November, Huawei had sold the Honor brand to a consortium of over 30 Chinese agents and dealers. Since both firms shared the same supply chain and R&D facilities, Honor is reportedly in process of getting completely from Huawei. This could be the reason why the Honor V40’s launch could be postponed to January. Fresh information reveals that the Honor V40 may break cover on Jan. 12 and it could be coming with a 120Hz refresh rate supporting display.
Honor has confirmed that it will be holding its annual fan meeting in Shenzhen, China on Jan. 13. The company is previously known for launching its phone first followed by fan activities. Hence, it is being speculated that the Honor V40 may break cover on Jan. 12.
The same tipster who shared the above information has shared new proof to claim that the Honor V40 features a 120Hz display. The leakster claimed that he downloaded the “Temple Escape 2” game, and he could find a surprise about the unannounced Honor V40 phone.
As can be seen in the screenshot shared by the tipster, the game developer seems to be testing the 120fps beta test for the Honor V40 phone. The larger the Hz value, the higher will be the fps value, and supported refresh rate.As such, the Honor V40 is likely to be equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate display.
Previous reports have claimed that the Honor V40 has a 6.72-inch OLED display with curved edges and 120Hz refresh rate support. Probably, it features the same 6.72-inch dual punch-hole OLED screen with a 300Hz touch sampling rate available on the newly unveiled Huawei Nova 8 Pro.
The Dimensity 1000+ chipset could be present under the hood of the device. The phone is expected to arrive with 66W fast charging and may carry support for 45W fast wireless charging as well.
