Honor is reportedly working on a phone that will feature a 10,000mAh battery. Last month, the device was said to have entered the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase. Now, a new leak by tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the chipset that will drive the said phone.
Honor’s Dimensity 8500 phone to feature 10,000mAh battery
As can be seen above, DCS has revealed that Honor’s 10,000mAh battery phone will feature the Dimensity 8500 chipset. He added that the device has reached the NPI verification stage, which is a sub-stage within NPI where engineers run structured tests to ensure the design, components, and assembly meet quality and performance targets before moving to mass production.
The next steps include pilot production, mass production, and logistics & distribution before it hits the market. Ideally, this should take around three months to complete. However, the phone is unlikely to launch until MediaTek announces the Dimensity 8500.
Next month, MediaTek may unveil the more powerful Dimensity 9500. Speculations suggest that the Redmi Turbo 5, which is expected to debut in December this year, could be the world’s first Dimensity 8500 phone. Therefore, Honor’s Dimensity 8500 phone may debut soon after the Redmi Turbo 5, which could be either by December end or January 2026.
At present, there is no information about the final name of this mysterious Honor phone. Hopefully, upcoming reports will shed more details about it.
