Honor recently introduced two smartphones with massive batteries in China, the Honor Power, featuring an 8,000mAh battery, and the Honor X70, which packs an even larger 8,300mAh unit. Earlier this month, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the brand might be preparing a smartphone with a 10,000mAh battery, targeted for a 2026 launch. Now, he’s back with an update suggesting that the project has taken a significant step forward.
Honor’s 10,000mAh battery phone in the works
According to the tipster, Honor’s upcoming 10,000mAh battery phone has entered the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase, a critical stage that includes trial production, process validation, and early manufacturing. This indicates that development is progressing beyond initial planning and into the early stages of assembly and testing.
There is speculation that this device could debut as part of the Honor Power 3 series. Impressively, reports claim that despite the massive battery, the phone may maintain a thickness of under 8.5mm, which would be a remarkable engineering feat.
In the first half of 2025, several mid-range phones in China have already reached or surpassed the 7,000mAh battery mark. In the coming months, more devices with 8,000mAh capacities are expected to go official. For example, the iQOO Z10 Turbo+ with an 8,000mAh battery and Dimensity 9400 Plus is confirmed for an August launch, while the standard iQOO Z10, featuring a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and a similarly sized battery, is also expected to arrive the same month.
Meanwhile, Honor is also said to be developing the Magic V2 Flip and the Magic 8 series. Rumors indicate the Magic V2 Flip may debut in August, while the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro, likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (Elite 2) chipset, could launch in October.
