How to root the iOcean X7 using Framaroot appThe iOcean X7 is a quad-core powered Android smartphone released back in March this year. Although the device is packed with all high-end specifications, it comes with a price tag of just $249 – making it one of the most sought after Android smartphone. Like most other Android smartphones running on the Mediatek processor, the iOcean X7 can too be easily rooted using the Framaroot app through the Boromir / Faramir exploits. If you’re interested, then read on to find out how to root the iOcean X7.

 

Before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of rooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device. Its a good practice for you to backup your device to an external source apart from your own SD Card.

 

Follow the steps below on how to root the iOcean X7

  1. Download the Framaroot apk and place it on your desktop.
  2. Connect the iOcean X7 to your PC.
  3. Copy and paste the Framaroot apk from your desktop over to your device’s SD card.
  4. Ensure that the Unknown Sources option has been checked in your device’s security settings ( This is required in order to install apks outside Google Play ).
  5. Launch your file explorer from your app drawer ( if you do not have one, you can download ES File Explorer from the Play Store ) and install the Framaroot apk from your SD card.
  6. Open the Framaroot app on your iOcean X7.
  7. Select install Superuser.
  8. Tap on the Boromir / Faramir option on the app,
  9. Wait for a success pop-up to appear on the screen.
  10. Restart your device.
  11. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted the iOcean X7.
