Several images of the upcoming HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G surfaced earlier this month. And now, the handset has silently gone official in Taiwan. As the name goes, the device succeeds the Desire 20 Pro phone from last year.
HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G Specifications
The HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G flaunts a 6.7-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a top-center positioned selfie camera hole. It is the first HTC phone to arrive with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone measures 167.1 x 78.1 x 9.4mm and it weighs 205 grams.
The Snapdragon 690 5G mobile platform powers the HTC Desire 21 Pro 5G. The Qualcomm chip was recently seen on phones like the OnePlus Nord N10 and LG K92 5G. The new Desire series smartphone also has 8 GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
While many brands are launching phones with the latest Android 11 OS, HTC’s latest offering comes with the older Android 10 OS. It has a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for up to 18W charging. The smartphone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Flipping the device to its back reveals its quad camera system that includes a 48-megapixel main snapper, a 118-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Placed on the front is a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The device comes with usual connectivity features like dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, USB-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
