As the day passes, 5G adoption rates are gaining momentum across the globes, partly due to the rapid introduction of 5G smartphones towards the end of the year.
This month alone, we’d already been overwhelmed with the likes of Huawei Nova 6, Vivo X30, Vivo X30 Pro, Redmi K30, OPPO Reno3, as well as OPPO Reno3 Pro. All of which are capable of supporting both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes.
With more countries gearing up the necessary 5G infrastructures, we can expect to see even higher adoption rate in 2020. According to a new report, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is likely to be the leading 5G smartphone maker in China next year.
During an interview, CEO of Japanese smart capacitor manufacturer Taiyo Yuden Co, Shoichi Tosaka said “Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corp have led the orders for capacitors used in base stations.” He then predicts that “Huawei may sell 100 million 5G-enabled smartphones in China alone next year”.
With that ever-growing market share in China, it isn’t really hard for them to achieve this staggering figure – keeping in mind that the majority of smartphones introduced next year will come with 5G support.
