Last week, Huawei finally took the wrap off their latest iteration of flagship devices including Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS Porsche Design. If you can remember, during the launch event we only saw the 8GB RAM variant of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro being announced.
However, that seems to be something temporary. According to their official TENAA listing, both devices may eventually have 6GB and 12GB RAM models as well. The 6GB RAM variant is expected to be paired with 128GB onboard storage, while the 12GB variant will double up with 512GB storage.
Besides their differences in the memory configurations, the rest of it’s specs will remain the same. There’s certainly a possibility that some of the aforementioned models may be exclusive only to the Chinese market, due to the weaker demand in the global market as a result of it’s lacking in Google Play apps and services.
Good thing is that Huawei is now actively exploring possible workarounds to bring those crucial apps and services to the Mate 30 series, with one of the recently disclosed method being having the Mate 30 Pro’s bootloader unlockable. However, most of these methods involve sideloading of Google Play apps and services which may seems easy for geeks, but tedious for most average users.
