Last week, Huawei confirmed that it will be holding the Huawei Mate 40 series launch event on Oct. 22. The global unveiling event could see the arrival of devices such as Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design. This year, various flagship phones have launched with a display supporting up to 144Hz refresh rate. The P40 series was the first flagship phone from Huawei to arrive with 90Hz refresh rate displays. Rumors are rife that the Mate 40 lineup will also support a refresh rate. A teaser video that was released by the Chinese firm today hints that the Mate 40 series will also arrive with 90Hz refresh rate supporting displays.
The below-shown teaser video features an interstellar video game. Netizens were able to spot that the frame rate number mentioned at the bottom side of the video stopped at 90. Hence, people are now assuming that the Mate 40 series will support a 90Hz refresh rate display. It is still unclear whether all the devices in the Mate 40 series will have 90Hz displays.
Recently, the Huawei Mate 40 smartphone with model number NOH-NX9 had appeared at Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmarking platforms. The UX test of the device revealed that it supports a 90Hz refresh rate. Hence, it can be concluded that at least the vanilla could be coming with a 90Hz screen.
The AnTuTu listing had further revealed that the device has 8 GB of LPPDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone was found to be running on Android 10 OS. Huawei has also revealed that the Mate 40 series has an octagonal camera system.
As it is known, the Mate 40 series will be fueled by the 5nm Kirin 9000 5G chipset. The handset managed to salvage an impressive score of 693K+ at AnTuTu and it scored 1020 points in the single-core test and 3710 points in the multi-core test of Geekbench.
