Huawei is expected to announce the Huawei Mate 40 in September or October this year. The Mate 30 series from last year came with 60Hz refresh rate supporting screens. The Mate 40 series are rumored to arrive with higher refresh rate supporting displays. The Founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) revealed on Twitter a list of 2020 phones that are equipped with 120Hz screens. The list also includes the unannounced Mate 40 phone.
Apart from the Mate 40, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are the other phones that are going to arrive with 120Hz refresh rate supporting displays. The Mate 40 Pro is not listed. Could it be coming with a higher 144Hz display? It is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm it.
Rumors have it that the Mate 40 series is fueled by the 5nm Kirin 1000 chipset. Some reports have claimed that the SoC could be called Kirin 1020. A recent claimed that despite sanctions by the U.S, the Mate 40 series will debut in October with the new SoC. The leak also revealed that the company has planned to ship 8 million Mate 40 phones by the end of this year.
Supply chain sources revealed that the Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 40 Pro could be sporting a 108-megapixel main camera. They are said to be equipped with 9P, free-from lens. The tech will make it possible for the Mate 40 series to capture better shots than other phones with 108-megapixel available in the market.
Some reports have claimed that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro may support 55W fast charging. The Chinese firm is yet to reveal any information on the arrival of the next-generation Mate series. Hopefully, newer reports will reveal more information on the Mate 40 devices.
