Huawei unveiled the Mate 70 series back in November 2024. While the brand is expected to announce the Mate 80 lineup next month (November), it appears that it may launch the Mate 70 Air as the final model in the Mate 70 series before shifting focus to the next generation. The unannounced device has surfaced in the China Telecom database, revealing several key details, including its design, display size, and storage variants.
Huawei Mate 70 Air key details revealed
The Huawei Mate 70 Air is listed under the model number SUP-AL90 in China Telecom’s database. It is a 4G LTE device featuring a 6.9-inch display that supports Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). While the “Air” branding implies that it could be an ultra-thin phone, its exact dimensions have not been disclosed in the listing.
According to the listing, the Mate 70 Air will be offered in two variants: 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. It will be available in Golden Black, Feather White, and Silver Brocade colour options. The database also confirms that the device will run on HarmonyOS 5.0 out of the box.
Huawei has not yet officially confirmed the existence of the Mate 70 Air. However, considering its appearance on China Telecom’s website, it is likely to debut in the coming weeks in China. Once launched, the company is expected to shift its attention to the Mate 80 lineup.
So far, reports indicate that the Mate 80 series will include the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS. The Pro and RS variants are rumoured to feature the Kirin 9030 chipset. Additionally, the Mate X7 foldable phone, which is expected to launch alongside the Mate 80 lineup, may also be powered by the same SoC.
