On October 27th, Huawei will be holding a global launch event in Vienna where the company is expected to unveil it’s highly-anticipated P50 series smartphones on a global stage.
However, besides the P50 series smartphones, Huawei reportedly has another surprise in store for us – Huawei Mate V – a clamshell-style foldable that will take on the likes of the recently announced Galaxy Z Flip3 and Motorola Razr.
Although Huawei had already launched a number of folding smartphones in the past, but this could actually be the first time that the company launches a vertically-folding smartphone, instead of a horizontally-folding design like what we saw on the Huawei Mate Xs and Mate X2.
While there isn’t much details pertaining to the Huawei Mate V at the moment, but rumors appear to suggest that the device will be powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9000 chipset – though there isn’t any mention on the connectivity side of things.
