Since 2019, Huawei has been consistently launching Mate X-branded foldable phones. A recent report claimed that Huawei’s next foldable phone, tentatively dubbed the Mate X3, will enter the mass production phase in March. This suggests that the company may unveil it in the second quarter of this year. Weeks before the launch, new leaks revealed the specifications and design of the device.
Huawei Mate X3 Design
The above render shows the Mate X3’s design for the first time, thanks to a tip from Rodent. The image reveals that it has a curved-edge cover display with a centrally positioned punch-hole.
On the back, it has a round-shaped camera module, which houses a triple camera unit, including a periscope zoom camera. An LED flash strip can be seen at the centre of the camera island. The device seems to be equipped with a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
According to the tipster, the Huawei Mate X3’s inner foldable display does not have a punch-hole. The device is expected to arrive with a new hinge. It is likely to be a slimmer and lighter device as compared to its predecessor.
Huawei Mate X3 Specifications (Rumored)
The Mate X3’s foldable screen is likely to support a 2K resolution. It may come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging. The camera module is expected to include a Sony IMX766 50-megapixel main camera, an IMX668 ultra-wide lens, and an IMX351 periscope zoom camera.
