Earlier this year, Huawei unveiled the Mate X3 foldable phone. Rumors are rife that the brand is currently working on the Mate X5 foldable phone. A tipster from China has leaked the variants of the X5.
According to the tipster, the Huawei Mate X5 will come in two options, such as the Mate X5 and the Mate X5 DC. The latter appears to be a Collector’s Edition model.
The Mate X5 is tipped to arrive in variants, such as 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. On the other hand, the Huawei Mate X5 DC will come in two options, 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage. While the X5 will come in five shades, the X5 DC will be available in four colors.
Another leaker has claimed that the X5 will be available in black, white, blue, gold, and purple. One of these colors will not be on the Collector’s Edition model.
The specifications of the Huawei Mate X5 series is yet to surface. It is unclear whether the device supports 5G connectivity like the Mate 60 series. If it does, it could be equipped with the Kirin 9000s or the upcoming Kirin 9100, which is said to power the Mate 60 Pro+ 5G, which may launch this year in China.
At present, there is no information available about the launch timeframe of the Huawei Mate X5. Huawei unveiled the Mate X3 in April this year. Hence, it is likely that the Mate X5 may go official in October or November this year.
