After a series of vigorous testing and evaluation, the newly announced Huawei Nova 6 5G has emerged as the best selfie camera according to DxOMark.
The device has achieved an overall selfie score of 100, putting it 1 point ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G which sits in the second place. For those who do not know, the score here is calculated based on a swathe of test categories and sub-categories seen above.
As a quick recap, the Nova 6 5G comes with a dual front-facing camera which consists of a 32 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) main snapper as well as a secondary wide and depth sensor.
On the whole, the selfie cameras for the Nova 6 5G did particularly well in terms of good exposure which remain consistent across all conditions. Even in high-contrast environment, the device still flair well courtesy of it’s wide dynamic range, HDR processing.
Similarly, DxOMark also mentioned that the Nova 6 5G is capable of capturing images with impressive color rendering that remain natural across different skin tones.
The Nova 6 5G is also one of the few smartphones in the market which sports a PDAF autofocus system for it’s selfie camera. Apparently, the autofocus feature is able to maintain a good focus on faces, from a subject distance of 30cm to 120cm.
As for it’s bokeh effect, the Nova 6 5G continues to be exceptional on this aspect. DxOMark commented that the device produces a bokeh simulation images which have smooth blur gradient and a good depth estimation which gives a natural bokeh effect.
