There have been rumors that Huawei will unveil the Nova 13 series of smartphones in August in China. While there is no official word yet on the Nova 13 lineup, the company today released an official confirmation that it will unveil the Nova Flip on Aug. 6 in the home market. In addition, the brand released the following video teaser to showcase its design.
The Huawei Nova Flip’s teaser video reveals that it has a foldable screen on the inside and a square-shaped cover screen on the outside. The latter is accompanied by a dual-camera setup.
The Nova Flip’s top edge has a microphone, and its bottom features a SIM slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille. The device appears to incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, integrated into the right power button and a volume rocker. The left side of the device appears barren.
Unfortunately, Huawei has not confirmed the specifications of the Nova Flip. However, the Nova Flip seems to feature the company’s proprietary Kirin chipset. It is probable that it will have mid-range specs and a reasonable price.
In related news, Huawei is working on the Mate 70 series of flagship smartphones. Previous reports claimed that the company may unveil in August or September of this year. Given that the Nova Flip and other Nova phones are expected to launch during this period, the Mate 70 series may break cover in the last quarter of 2024.
