Besides launching the new Huawei Mate Xs 2, Huawei has also announced a new entry-level smartphone from it’s Nova series lineup known as the Nova Y70 which will go on sale in the Malaysian market on June 17th for just RM699 ($159).
The new model features a 6.75” TFT LCD display which offers a HD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the device also has an 8 megapixels front-facing camera situated within a waterdrop-notch around it’s forehead area.
Over on the flipside, the Huawei Nova Y70 sports a triple-camera array lead by a 48 megapixels main camera alongside a 5 megapixels ultra-wide camera and a 2 megapixels depth sensor for portrait shots.
Sad to say, Huawei didn’t reveal the underlying chipset powering the new Nova Y70 smartphone – which was also the case on the higher-end Nova Y70 Plus. Nonetheless, the company did confirmed that the device will arrive with 4GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the Huawei Nova Y70 is equipped with a respectable 6,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging support. Coming to the software side of things, the device will also be shipped with EMUI 12 (based on Android AOSP) out of the box. Those who’re interested can pick the phone from a trio of colors such as Crystal Blue, Pearl White, as well as Midnight Black.
