In December 2021, Huawei unveiled the Huawei P50 Pocket as its first clamshell phone with a foldable display. Recent reports have claimed that the company is gearing up to launch a new variant of the same device. A leaked poster of a device named “Huawei P50 Pocket New” has surfaced on Weibo. It gives a good look at its design and mentions some of its key features.
As can be seen in the poster, the Huawei P50 Pocket New will be available in black and white colors. The white variant can be seen sporting a textured design. The key features of the device mentioned on the page reveal that it has a 120Hz OLED display, XMAGE image processing technology, and HarmonyOS 3. It can be seen that the device does not feature a cover display.
The Huawei P50 Pocket New will be available in 256 GB and 512 GB storage options. These models are expected to cost 4,999 yuan ($718) and 6,999 yuan ($1,005), respectively.While the poster looks authentic, Huawei has not released any information and is yet to confirm the existence of the P50 Pocket New.
According to tipster Teme, the Huawei P50 Pocket New will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 and will lack a cover display. He added that the device will carry a cheaper price tag of around 710 euros in China, which is roughly around 4,999 Yuan as seen on the poster.
It is likely that the Huawei P50 Pocket New may later this month in China. Hopefully, Huawei will soon release a confirmation on it in the next few days.
