Huawei is reportedly working on the Huawei P70 series of flagship phones. Well-known market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed key details, such as the names, camera capabilities, and chipset of the P70 series. Here is a look at what to expect from the P70 lineup.
According to Kuo, the Huawei P70 series will have three models, such as the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Art. He added that mass shipments of the P70 models will happen in the first half of 2024.
Kuo revealed that the P70 series will be equipped with periscope cameras. In addition, the lineup will feature Kirin chipsets and not Snapdragon chipsets, as it did for the P60 series. Kuo is of the view that the P70 series will allow Huawei to generate 100 percent year-over-year shipment growth in 2024.
To recall, the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art lacked support for 5G connectivity. However, it appears that the P70 series will offer 5G connectivity.
The detailed specifications of the Huawei P70 series are not known yet, but there are speculations that it may break cover in March. It seems possible since the company needs to maintain a time gap of a couple of months before it announces the Huawei Mate 70 series in the second half of the year.
In related news, Huawei is gearing up to hold a launch event in China. The event will see the arrival of new Enjoy-branded smartphones, a new MatePad, and the Nova 12 series. The latter is likely to include the Kirin 830-powered Nova 12 and the Nova 12 Pro equipped with the Kirin 9000s chip. The Nova 12 lineup is also expected to support satellite connectivity.
