Huawei Pocket 3 launch timeframe tipped, expected to arrive in two versions

This year, some brands are expected to launch flip-style foldable phones. Rumours have already hinted at the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2, with key specifications leaked. Samsung is expected to maintain its annual cycle of flip phone launches, with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 likely arriving in July. Additionally, a new leak has unveiled the existence of the Huawei Pocket 3.

According to a new leak by tipster Smart Pikachu, the Huawei Pocket 3 will be thinner, smaller, and lighter than its predecessor, the Pocket 2. For reference, last year’s Pocket 2 measured 170 x 75.5 x 7.3 mm when unfolded and 87.8 x 75.5 x 15.3 mm when folded.

The Pocket 3 is rumoured to arrive in two versions, although details about how these variants will differ remain unclear. Regarding its launch, the device is expected to debut after the Chinese Spring Festival, suggesting a release window in February or March in China.

Additionally, the leak mentions that Huawei may introduce a compact tablet alongside the Pocket 3. However, details about its name and specifications are currently unavailable.

Huawei Pocket 2 specifications

The Pocket 2 has a 6.94-inch foldable OLED LTPO panel and a 1.15-inch round external screen. The device is powered by HarmonyOS and a Kirin chipset. It comes with up to 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, and a 4,520mAh battery with 66W wired and 40W wireless charging support.

The Pocket 2 has a 10.7-megapixel camera on the front for selfies. Its rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 2-megapixel spectral lens.
