Huawei was expected to launch the Huawei Pocket S2, a vertically foldable device, in December 2023. However, it was later reported that the company had postponed its launch. Now, a new leak has revealed the launch date of the device.
The tipster claimed that the Pocket S2 foldable phone is expected to be unveiled on Feb 27. Though the leaker did not mention it, it appears that the device may go official through the MWC 2024 event, which will be held by the end of February.
It is speculated that the Pocket S2 might be equipped with a modified version of the Kirin 9000S chip, with a potential focus on power efficiency through downclocking. For those who don’t know, the Mate 60 series, which will debut in Q3 2023, features the Kirin 9000S SoC.
Previously seen case leak images have shown that it will have two round-shaped modules on the back. The first one is expected to house a triple camera unit, while the other one will have a secondary screen. It is expected to feature a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Unfortunately, there is no information available about the core specifications of the device.
The tipster also revealed that the company is making advancements in 5.5G technology. He also claimed that the company is working on a new laptop, which will feature the company’s in-house Kirin PC processor.
In related news, Huawei is also said to be working on the Huawei P70 series. Recent reports have claimed that the lineup will comprise four models, such as the Huawei P70, P70 Pro, P70 Pro+, and P70 Art. These devices are expected to launch in March in China.
