Huawei shipped a total of 153 million smartphones this year according to CEO

During an official New Year Day speech, Huawei’s Rotating CEO Ken Hu had revealed that a total of 153 million smartphones had been shipped globally in 2017. This figure, which include the sales figure of it’s Honor sub-brand, has helped the company to retain more than 10% of the global smartphone market share – sending the company to the top 3 list of smartphone makers in terms of market shares.

This impressive sales figures are of course the result of their successful launch of the Huawei P11 flagship series as well as their ever-popular Mate 10 series back in October this year. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had also performed pretty well this year as the company recently celebrated the 40 million sales record of their Honor X series from 2014 till 2017.

With the imminent arrival of the Mate series in the US market, we’re pretty certain that the Chinese company will be further drives up their sales number in 2018 as they enter one of the world’s largest smartphone market. This will help pave the way for Huawei to over take Samsung and Apple to become the world’s largest smartphone markers by 2021 which the company had been aiming for.
