Recently, it was revealed that Huawei is working on the launch of a new smartwatch called Huawei Watch GT 2e. As the name goes, it is expected to come as a variant of the original Watch GT 2 smartwatch from the company. The rumor mill had speculated that the company may unleash it during the upcoming Huawei P40 series launch event that is scheduled to be held on March 26. Today, Huawei officially confirmed through Weibo that the Watch GT 2e will be made official on the same date.
The below commercial confirms the March 26 launch for the Watch GT 2e. The leaked renders that had appeared earlier this week had revealed that its design and specs will be based on the Huawei Watch GT 2.
Huawei Watch GT 2e Specifications
The Watch GT 2e is speculated to come with a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen that produces a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. The device is speculated to draw power from HilSilicon Hi1132 chipset.
The SoC of the Watch GT 2e will be coupled with 16 MB of RAM. The device will come with a native storage of 4 GB. The smartwatch could be housing a 455mAh battery. It will have a heart rate sensor onboard. It will be compatible with Android 4.4 and higher, and iOS 9.0 and higher.
The Huawei Watch GT 2e is expected to offer a battery life of around 14 days. There is no accurate information available on the pricing of the device. It may come in color variants like Graphite Black, Volcano Red and Mint Green.
