Huawei Japan has announced that the company will be launching a new tablet on April 20th next week. Although the identity of the tablet wasn’t revealed, but it could well be the long-rumored Huawei MatePad Pro 2.
According to recent reports, the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 will allegedly be among the pioneer batch of device to be shipped with Huawei’s proprietary HarmonyOS out of the box.
However, it remains to be seen whether the global variant of the MatePad Pro 2 will run on HarmonyOS since it was previously reported to be made available starting with the Chinese market.
Based on what we’d learned so far, the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 is expected to be powered by the flagship Kirin 9000 chipset which is also used in the Huawei Mate 40 Pro (Review).
The tablet is also said to feature an OLED display with 120Hz screen refresh rate. Furthermore, its recent 3C listing also revealed the presence of 40W fast-charging support on the MatePad Pro 2 as well.
As usual, this tablet is expected to provide a tough competition against the upcoming iPad Pro 2021 despite the lack of Google apps.
