Recently, Huawei has quietly announced several “Y” series smartphones including the Huawei Y5p and Huawei Y6p. Today, the Chinese smartphone maker has introduced yet another “Y” series smartphone to their evergrowing portfolio – Huawei Y8p.
In terms of design, the Huawei Y8p shares the same design language as the upcoming Huawei P Smart S. This include a dewdrop-notch front display which measures 6.3-inches diagonally. Quite surprisingly, the front display is actually an OLED display which boast a FHD+ screen resolution along with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the flip-side, the Huawei Y8p maintains a vertical triple-cameras array which houses a 48 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor. This will be assisted by a 16 megapixels selfie camera at the front.
As with most of the “Y” series smartphones, the Huawei Y8p will also be powered by an octa-core Kirin 710F SoC which will be paired with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The storage capacity of the device could be further expanded by up to 512GB via a nm card.
At the helm, the device will be fueled by a 4,000mAh which supports a standard 10W charging rate. On the software-side, the Huawei Y8p will boot on the latest EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 (AOSP version).
A total of two color options including Breathing Crystal and Midnight Black are available for the device. As of now, there is still no words on the Huawei Y8p’s official pricing and availability.
