OPPO VP Brian Shen has today taken to Weibo to share fresh images of an upcoming OPPO phone that features a marvelous display. The images show that the smartphone is equipped with a display with extremely curved edges on its right and left. Also, the smartphone seems to offer a taller aspect ratio than the recent flagship phones from Chinese brands.
The new OPPO’s display design is called ‘Waterfall Screen’ since it offers 88-degree curvature. In the image where the phone is compared with OPPO Find X smartphone from last year, the new OPPO phone seems to offer a taller aspect ratio. Probably, it may deliver an aspect ratio of 21:9. With symmetrical and super-slim top and bezels, the smartphone promises a screen-to-body ratio of nearly 100 percent. Sadly, the official name of the device is not known yet.
The device appears to be quite thin which indicates it may not be equipped with a pop-up camera assembly like the Find X. Since the front camera is not visible on the smartphone, it is being assumed that it features an in-display camera. The new front camera technology makes it possible for it to remain invisible while using the handset, but show up when it is equipped through the camera app.
No details on the specifications of the Waterfall Screen enabled OPPO phone have appeared so far. Probably, the phone could be announced in the next few months in China.
