Apple hasn’t launched an “SE”-branded iPhone after launching the third-generation iPhone SE in 2022. Speculation is rife that the brand may launch the much-anticipated iPhone SE in a few months this year. Reports also state that the next-generation model will not have the “SE” branding. Instead, it is likely to arrive with the iPhone 16 moniker. In a recent leak, tipster Digital Chat Station, who purportedly has access to the iPhone 16e’s components, has revealed important details about the device.
iPhone 16e key specifications (rumored)
According to DCS, the iPhone 16e will arrive with a 6.07-inch LTPS OLED screen with a notch design. It will offer an FHD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.
For security, it will feature Face ID support, a departure from the home button fingerprint sensor found on previous models. In terms of the build, it will arrive with a metal middle frame and a waterproof chassis.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16e will have the Apple A18 chip, which also powers some of the iPhone 16 series models. For photography, it will feature a single camera on the back.
The iPhone SE 3 was priced at $329 at launch. Other reports surrounding the iPhone SE 4 say it will arrive with an increased price tag. Given the anticipated upgrades over the previous generation, the base model of the iPhone 16e is likely to start at $499.
