The iPhone 8 that is pegged to launch next could be the largest iPhone ever with a 5.8-inch OLED display. Fresh information suggests that Apple will increasing the display sizes of iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus in the coming year.
According to a South Korean publication, the iPhone 9 may arrive with a 5.85-inch OLED screen and the larger iPhone 9 Plus may house a 6.46-inch OLED screen. Since the iPhone 9 Plus is expected to sport a bezel-less design, its size would be similar to that of the iPhone 7 Plus from last year. Apple was rumored to launch a 5.28-inch iPhone, but the plans to launch it has been dropping because of the rising sizes of the flagship phones.
Hence, in the coming year, Apple may sell three OLED screen totting smartphones namely, iPhone 8, iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus. Reports have revealed that the Cupertino company has begun working with suppliers like Samsung and others earlier this year in the month of April for the next year’s iPhones. Apple is likely to order 170 million OLED panels for 2018 iPhones and Samsung will be the sole supplier for the screen.
