A reliable tipster from China had recently revealed that iQOO is planning to launch the iQOO 5 series this month. Today, the Chinese firm released an official confirmation on its arrival. The iQOO 5 series will be made official on Aug. 17 in China.
The launch event of the iQOO 5 will kick off at 2:30 PM local time in China on Aug. 5. The poster released by the company hints that the iQOO 5 series will support 120W fast charging. The “15 mins” text in the poster suggests that the iQOO 5 series phone with 120W charging support can completely charge in only 15 minutes.
Hence, it is speculated that either the iQOO 5 or the iQOO 5 Pro could be arriving as the world’s first smartphone with 120W fast charging support. Probably, the said phone with 120W charging support could be packed with a 4,000mAh battery.
Rumors surrounding the iQOO 5 claim that the handset is equipped with a display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Since it is a flagship phone, the company could be providing users with an AMOLED panel on the device. Like all the other iQOO phones launched this year, the iQOO 5 could be also sporting a punch-hole design. The Snapdragon 865+ could be present under the hood of the iQOO 5 series.
The other feature that is expected to arrive on the iQOO 5 is a 100-megapixel camera, but its inclusion sounds too good to be true. Hopefully, the rumor mill will spill more information on the device before its launch. Now that the company has confirmed its launch date, it is also expected to release more teasers in the near future to confirm on its features.
