Yesterday, an iQOO official released a teaser, which indicated that the company may launch the iQOO 8 series on Aug. 4. Ahead of the launch, a new phone with model number V2141A appeared in the database of China’s CMIIT authority. At the same time, popular tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a screenshot of the same device to reveal some of its key specs.
As can be seen in the screenshot, the V2141A phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC. Since it is speculated to debut on Aug. 4, it is likely to release in the market as the first phone powered by the Snapdragon 888 Plus chip.
The SoC of the iQOO 8 is coupled with 12 GB of RAM, which tags along 4 GB of virtual RAM. The device offers 256 GB of built-in storage and runs on Android 11 OS with OriginOS 1.0 on top.
The iQOO 8 is expected to feature a centrally aligned punch-hole screen that offers a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels and a high refresh rate. The tipster mentioned through another Weibo post that the iQOO 8 will be sporting a bigger display. To recollect, the iQOO 7 came with a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel that supports a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The predecessor phone came with a 4,000mAh battery, which carried support for 120W fast charging in China. The tipster claimed that the iQOO 8 will offer an improved fast-charging experience and a better battery life. However, he did not share specific details on the battery size and fast charging capabilities of the iQOO 8.
