After making it’s official launch in the Chinese market last month, iQOO has finally announced the much anticipated iQOO 9 series in the global market today. As expected, a total of three models were announced including the iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro, as well as iQOO 9 SE. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the new iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro to check out what these devices have in store for us!
iQOO 9 Pro
Starting off with the more expensive model, we have the iQOO 9 Pro which sports a 6.78” Samsung E5 AMOLED (LTPO 2.0) display which offers a super sharp QHD+ screen resolution and a fast 120Hz adaptive refresh rate that makes animations and scrolling felt buttery-smooth.
To sweeten the deal, it also supports a wide 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for accurate color reproduction, as well as an impressive peak brightness of 1,500 nits. Some might be glad to hear that the front display also features a new ultrasonic 3D wide-area fingerprint sensor that’s capable of unlocking the phone in merely 0.2 seconds.
At the back, the iQOO 9 Pro had gotten a substantiate facelift which allows us to easily differentiate it from it’s predecessor. In fact, the design of it’s camera housing is quite obviously inspired by last year’s Vivo X70 Pro+ which matches well with the overall design of the phone.
For photography, the phone features triple-camera setup comprising of a 50 megapixels Samsung GN5 main camera with Gimbal-style stabilization system along with another 50 megapixels ultra-wide unit with 150-degree FoV, and finally a 16 megapixels telephoto portrait lens. This will be rounded out by a 16 megapixels front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
Under the hood, the iQOO 9 Pro is powered by the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. Other than that, it’s also backed by a respectable 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast-charging support.
For those who’re interested, the iQOO 9 Pro is priced at INR64,999 (US$872) and INR69,999 (US$939) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB variants in the Indian market.

Coming to the iQOO 9, this model comes with a slightly smaller 6.56” AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, as well as support for 10-bit color depth. For selfie, it retains the same 16 megapixels front-facing camera.
In the imaging department, it features a slightly toned-down triple-cam setup comprising of a 48 megapixels main camera (w/ Gimbal-style stabilization), 13 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as a 13 megapixels portrait camera.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 888+ chipset which is a nice upgrade over the Snapdragon 888 chipset that was found in the Chinese variant. On the memory side of things, the phone is also equipped with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB built-in storage in the memory department.
To keep it’s lights on, the iQOO 9 is backed by a 4,350mAh battery which retains sthe same 120W fast wired charging speed as the Pro counterpart. As usual, the phone will be shipped with FuntouchOS 12 based on Android 12 OS out of the box.
Pricing for the iQOO 9 is priced starting at INR42,999 (US$577) for it’s 8GB+128GB, and goes up to INR46,999 (US$630) for it’s 12GB+256GB variant in the Indian market.
