Rumors are rife that the iQOO is working on its next “Neo” brand performance-focused flagship phone for the Chinese market. The device, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, could be called the iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ when it debuts next month in China. In addition, the leaker also revealed that the branding is working on a Dimensity 9300+-powered smartphone.
DCS’ leak suggests that the iQOO Neo 9S Pro+ will arrive with improvements in three departments, such as chipset, battery, and biometrics. For those who don’t know, the Neo 9S Pro+ will be an upgraded version of the Dimensity 9300-powered Neo 9 Pro, which was announced in December 2023 in China.
The leaker revealed that the Neo 9S Pro+ will have an upgraded battery. To recall, the Neo 9 Pro came equipped with a 5,160mAh battery and an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner. Instead of the D9300 chip, the Neo 9S Pro+ will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
It is likely that the upcoming Neo 9S Pro+ may pack a larger battery. For security, it is expected to feature a single-point ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. The rest of its specifications are likely to remain the same as those of the Neo 9 Pro.
The new leak suggests that iQOO is also working on the iQOO Z9 Turbo+. While positioning itself as a more affordable option, the leaker noted that it still boasts powerful core features, including the Dimensity 9300+ chip. There is no word on its launch timeframe. It is likely to debut in China by late July or early August.
