Following the launch of iQOO 7 last month, iQOO is now rumored to be working on a slightly watered-down variant known as the iQOO Neo5 which is tipped for a mid-March launch.
Right now, an alleged live image of the iQOO Neo5 had made its way to Chinese Weibo, revealing that the device will be retaining the central hole-punch design similar to what we’d saw on the iQOO 7. It is expected to be an AMOLED display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Unlike the iQOO 7 which is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset, the upcoming iQOO Neo5 is expected to be driven by the Snapdragon 870 SoC according to the leaked image. Performance-wise, the Snapdragon 870 sits between the Snapdragon 865+ and Snapdragon 888 based on their respectively benchmark scores.
Besides a toned-down processor, the iQOO Neo5 will also give the insanely-fast 120W charging a miss. Instead, it is likely to feature a slightly slower 88W flash charging support which is still comparatively faster than most flagship phones in the market.
As of now, its still unclear whether there will be any changes to its camera system though its highly probable since the company may try to keep cost down in order to make the device slightly more affordable.
Just like any other leaks, do take this with a pinch of salt!
