iQOO has silently listed a new mid-range model known as the iQOO U5 in the Chinese market. Although the pricing details of the phone has yet to be unveiled by the company, but it’s already up for pre-order in the domestic market and will go on sale starting December 28th.
In terms of design, the iQOO U5 does resembles some of the recent mid-rangers launched by Vivo. Upfront, it comes with a waterdrop notch display which has been confirmed to feature up to 120Hz refresh rate. Previously, the same device was also spotted on TENAA which revealed that the phone will be equipped with an AMOLED panel with FHD+ screen resolution.
At the back, the iQOO U5 has a rectangular camera bump which is home to a dual-camera setup that’s expected to include a 50 megapixels main camera and a 2 megapixels auxiliary camera. This will be rounded out by an 8 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calls.
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 695 chipset which is likely to be paired with at least 4GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage in the memory department. As usual, we can expect the phone to sport a microSD slot for storage expansion as well.
To keep it’s lights on, the iQOO U5 is equipped with a massive 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Software-wise, it should be shipped with the new OriginOS Ocean based on Android 11 out of the box.
