Yesterday, MediaTek announced the Dimensity 1000+ chipset. It also revealed that iQOO will be the first brand to launch Dimensity 1000+ powered handset. A Chinese tipster revealed that the smartphone will be arriving as iQOO Z1.
The Taiwanese chipmaker had launched the Dimensity 1000 in November 2019. While it appeared to be a promising SoC for flagship devices, no smartphone maker has launched a smartphone featuring the chipset. However, it won’t be the same with Dimensity 1000+ as the company confirmed iQOO will be launching a smartphone-driven by the new SoC.
There is no information on the specifications of the iQOO Z1 smartphone. iQOO has recently launched the iQOO Neo3 with a 144Hz refresh rate supporting display. Apart from the Neo3, all other phones from the Chinese brand have a 60Hz refresh rate. Since the chipset carries support for up to 144Hz refresh rate, there is a possibility that the iQOO Z1 could be coming with a screen that supports 90Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz refresh rate.
There is no word on the specifications of the rumored iQOO Z1 smartphone. Yesterday, it was revealed a Chinese tipster that the Realme RMX2072 smartphone powered by Snapdragon 865 will be arriving within the first half of the year. It may get rivaled by iQOO Z1 as it is also expected to debut soon. It remains to be seen whether the iQOO Z1 borrows some of its specs from the iQOO Neo3 handset.
Last year, all the iQOO phones came with a waterdrop notch display. This year’s iQOO 3 and iQOO Neo3 have featured punch-hole screens. Hence, there is a possibility that the iQOO Z1 too will sport a punch-hole display.
