iQOO Z3 Pro May Arrive with Snapdragon 780G and 144Hz Display

Last week, iQOO announced the iQOO Z3 mid-range smartphone in China. Fresh information shared by a Chinese tipster reveals that the company is working on the launch of another Z-series phone called the iQOO Z3 Pro. The tipster also shared key specs of the smartphone.

Qualcomm announced a new 5nm chipset called the Snapdragon 780 5G in the previous week. It arrived as the most powerful Snapdragon 7-series chipset, and it is second only to Snapdragon 865 SoC in terms of performance. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Youth Edition smartphone which is slated to go official today in China, will be debuting as the world’s first phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 780 5G SoC.

The new leak claims that the upcoming iQOO Z3 Pro will be fueled by the Snapdragon 780G. While the iQOO Z3 features a 120Hz screen, the Z3 Pro is expected to house an LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The other specs of the smartphone are yet to be revealed. As the name goes, it will be positioned higher than the Z3, which is now selling with a starting price of 1,699 Yuan ($260) in China. There is no word on the launch timeframe of the smartphone.

iQOO Z3 specifications

The iQOO Z3 has a 6.58-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch. The Snapdragon 768G chipset powers the device along with 8 GB of RAM. It comes with up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

For snapping selfies, the iQOO Z3 has a front camera of 16-megapixel. The rear-mounted triple camera system of the phone features a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The 4,400mAh battery of the smartphone supports 55W fast charging.
