When Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset last month, it listed iQOO as an early adopter. The brand confirmed the new chip will power its next Z9 series phone. The phone in question is the upcoming iQOO Z9 Turbo, confirmed by Jia Jingdong, Vice President of Branding at Vivo, today.
In a post on Weibo, he said that the iQOO Z9 Turbo will carry the essence of Zeitgeist (Spirit of Time), a 19th-century German philosophy that means dominant world spirit. According to him, the Z9 Turbo will embody the ongoing performance and AI revolutions in the smartphone industry.
The iQOO Z9 Turbo is said to lead the performance race in its price segment with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The “Lite” version of the 8 Gen 3 chip caters to flagship killers like the iQOO Z9 Turbo.
In addition to the Qualcomm chip, the phone will have a “Turbo” independent graphics chip for visual rendering during games. Likewise, it will pack a 6K VC heat dissipation system, which iQOO claims will be “the only one in its class.” The iQOO Z9 Turbo will be equipped with a massive 6,000mAh battery. The official poster also reveals the rear design of the phone. It will have a massive camera module to house a dual-camera setup. The primary camera is confirmed to come with optical image stabilization (OIS).
