Chinese electronics giant Letv has announced a new budget-friendly smartphone known as the Letv S1 that’s targeted towards the entry-level segment of the smartphone market.
What’s interesting however, is that the phone is among the first smartphones from an external brand (outside of Huawei) to run on Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) out of the box.
Starting with the front, the Letv S1 features a 6.53” IPS LCD display that offers a HD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, as well as a front-facing camera of unspecified resolution.
At the back of the phone, it has a triple-cam setup that consists of a 48 megapixels main camera which will be assisted by a pair of 2 megapixels cameras for macro and depth information.
Sitting at the heart of the phone is an octa-core Unisoc Tiger T7510 chipset which is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s lights on, the Letv S1 draws power from a respectable 4,900mAh battery which does not appears to come with any fast-charging capabilities. Those who’re interested can purchase the phone at 1,599 Yuan (US$248) in the Chinese market.
