LG introduced the LG Velvet 5G smartphone in May. It arrived with Snapdragon 765 onboard. Last month, the South Korean company unveiled a 4G LTE variant of the LG Velvet powered by the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. A new Google Play Console listing of the phone has appeared. It reveals that the firm could be working on a new and cheaper 5G edition of the phone.
The Google Play Console listing states that a Velvet phone with mcyamanim codename is equipped with a screen that delivers 1080 x 2460 pixels resolution. The LG Velvet 5G and 4G offer the same resolution. Hence, it appears that the new variant of the phone could also be sporting a 6.8-inch display like the existing models.
The mysterious smartphone is loaded with Android 10 OS and it has 6 GB of RAM. What is interesting about the listing is the device is powered by the MediaTek MT6883 chipset. The latter is Dimensity 800 5G chipset. There is no official word on the existence of this variant of the LG Velvet. It could be coming as a Velvet series phone. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further reports to know more about it.
