After weeks of teasing the Meizu 16 series, the Chinese manufacturer has finally announced the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus smartphones. Unlike other flagship phones that feature a notch, the Meizu 16 duo feature notch-less 18:9 aspect ratio supporting display.
Meizu 16 and 16 Plus Specifications, Features and Pricing
The Meizu 16 and 16 Plus smartphones slim sized bezels on all the four sides of the display. Its upper bezel is not as thin as Vivo NEX that offers a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24 percent. However, the Meizu 16 offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.18 percent and it still manages to house all the necessary sensors including the front camera on the upper bezel. Both the handsets can be availed in black and white colors. The thickness of Meizu 16 duo is only 7.3mm.
The Meizu 16 and 16 Plus respectively features 6-inch and 6.5-inch Full HD+ resolution supporting Super AMOLED screens. Both the smartphones are equipped with under-display fingerprint scanner. The Snapdragon 845 SoC is present under the hood of both phones and they also feature liquid cooling copper tube. The Meizu 16 has 3,010mAh battery whereas the 16 Plus houses 3,640mAh battery.
The Meizu 16 duo borrows the same 12-megapixel Sony IMX380 + 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor that is available on the Meizu 15 Plus. At the front is a 20-megapixel selfie snapper. These handsets are loaded with Flyme 7 flavored Android 8.1 Oreo.
Meizu 16 and 16 Plus Pricing and Variants
The three variants of the Meizu 16 such as 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage + 8 GB RAM are respectively priced at 2,698 Yuan ($395), 2,998 Yuan ($439) and 3,298 Yuan ($483).
The Meizu 16 Plus variants include 128 GB storage + 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage + 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage + 8 GB RAM. These variants are respectively priced at 3,198 Yuan ($468), 3,498 Yuan ($512) and 3,998 Yuan ($586). The official sales of the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus begins on Aug. 20 in China.
