Meizu had hinted that it will be announcing something today for its fans. Today, the Chinese manufacturer took to Weibo to confirm that it will be launching the Meizu 16Xs smartphone on May 30. This is the first time the company has confirmed the name of the phone as well as the launch date to the general public.
It appears that the Chinese firm is trying to express something about the weight of the device since the teaser reads “165g of Balance.” Recently, a Chinese tipster had claimed that the main selling feature of the phone will be that it will be housing a 4,000mAh battery in a body that weighs 162 grams (weight according to TENAA). Most of the phones with 4,000mAh battery weigh around 180 grams. However, Meizu somehow managed to scale down the weight of the device without compromising on the specs of the phone.
The Meizu 16Xs is an upgraded version of the Meizu 16X phone that was announced last year. According to TENAA, it features a notch-less AMOLED display of 6.2 inches that offers full HD+ resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by 2 GHz octa-core processor and 6 GB of RAM. It has a native storage of 128 GB and lacks support for microSD card. The Flyme 7.3 UI based Android 9 Pie OS may come loaded on the device. Its packed with a 4,000mAh battery that may come accompanied with mCharge fast charging technology from Meizu. For photography, it features 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel + 8-megapixel triple camera setup and a front camera of 16-megapixel.
