Meizu’s Blue Charm wing has recently confirmed that the Meizu M6T smartphone would be launching on May 29. It is expected to debut as a budget friendly phone with impressive selfie shooting capabilities. The smartphone has recently appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform. The Geekbench listing reveals that the Meizu 6T is fueled by a low-end Spreadtrum processor.
In the recent past, Meizu has reduced its reliance on MediaTek chipsets by using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon and Samsung’s Exynos chipsets for its smartphones. This could be the reason why the Geekbench listing of the Meizu 6T shows the presence of Spreadtrum sc9850 chipset inside it. It is a 28nmm chipset that includes quad cores of ARM Cortex A7 with a processing speed of 1.3 GHz. The SoC includes Mali-820 MP1 graphics.
According to Geekbench listing of the Meizu 6T, it is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and its SoC is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It has scored 460 and 1284 points respectively in single-core and multi-core tests.
Meizu’s Senior VP Li Nan has claimed that its pricing will be equivalent to a hard disk. The presence of Spreadtrum SoC and 2 GB of RAM suggests that the starting price of the phone could be under 999 Yuan ($156) in China. Its other rumored features include 5.7-inch HD+ screen, 16/32/64 GB of storage, 2/3/4 GB of RAM, 13+2 megapixel dual camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera and 3,230mAh battery.
