Meizu CEO Huang Wong had confirmed in December last year that the Meizu Note 9 is an upcoming smartphone from the company. Wong has recently confirmed that the smartphone will come equipped with 48-megapixel rear camera and it will be featuring the new Snapdragon 6150 chipset. Renders of the smartphone along with some specs have surfaced on Weibo.
The following renders reveal that the Meizu Note 9 will be the first Meizu smartphone to feature a waterdrop notch screen. It is speculated to come equipped with a 6.3-inch display. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to incorporate a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be loaded with Flyme 7.2 based Android 9 Pie OS.
The Snapdragon 6150 is the codename for the Snapdragon 675 mobile platform that was made official in the last quarter of 2019. For photography, the handset could be equipped with 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GM1 sensor which is inferior to the Sony IMX586 48-megapixel sensor. The ISOCELL GM1 sensor can capture 12-megapixel photos which can be interpolated to 48-megapixel. The Note 9 is speculated to house a 4,000mAh battery
The specifications of the Meizu Note 9 suggests that it will be a true rival for the Redmi Note 7 smartphone that was announced recently. The Note 7 comes with a starting price of 999 Yuan ($147). There is a possibility that the Meizu Note 9 may release with the same starting price. The smartphone is tipped to go official after the Spring Festival in the coming month.
