Besides launching the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi 11 in the global market, Xiaomi also announced the all new MIUI 12.5 which will be heading to a handful of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones during the next couple of months.
For starter, the latest MIUI 12.5 will be lighter and faster as system apps are said to reduce their CPU usage by 22% and powerful consumption by 15%, which consequently improve its overall performance and battery life.
Moving on, Xiaomi also brought in some optimizations to make the MIUI smoother by prioritizing gesture renderings by having a dedicated thread to render gestures so that the overall interface will not appear laggy during instances when there are loads of ongoing tasks for the CPU.
Most importantly, MIUI 12 also gives you the ability to uninstall even more system apps which were previously impossible to uninstall in earlier MIUI versions. Of course, the only exceptions are those system apps that are critical for the phone’s daily operations.
Apart from that, there are still many other new features that accompany the new MIUI 12.5 including a slightly revamped user interface, new notification sounds, new “super” wall papers and etc.
According to Xiaomi, the MIUI 12.5 will be rolled out in two separate waves in the global market. The first wave, which kicks off in Q2 2021, will consist of five devices including the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro (Review) and Mi 11.
As for the second wave, its rollout will begin in late Q2 2021.
