Motorola unveiled the Moto Razr 2022 clamshell phone with a foldable display in August in China. The Lenovo-owned brand is expected to soon release the device in the global market. However, tipster Nils Ahrensmeier has claimed that it will have a different marketing name in the global market.
Ahrensmeier claimed that the next Razr for the global market will be marketed as the “Razr 22.” The specifications of the device are no secret since it has already launched in China.
Moto Razr 22 Specifications
The Moto Razr 22 has a 6.7-inch foldable P-OLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 144Hz refresh rate. The device runs on the MY UI 4.0-based Android 12 OS. For security, it features a side-facing fingerprint scanner.
For selfies, it has a front camera of 32-megapixel. The backside of the device has a 2.7-inch G-OLED cover display and a dual-camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
The Razr 22 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. In China, it comes in multiple LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 storage configurations, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage. The device is backed by a 3,500mAh battery, which supports 30W fast charging.
In China, the device starts at 5,999 Yuan ($850). There is no word on its price for the global market. However, it is believed to undercut the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is priced at $999 in the US.
