Earlier today, a pair of live images of the Moto Z2 Play got leaked out of Chinese Weibo apparently showing that the China version will be pre-installed with ZUK’s ZUI instead of having a stock Android UI like the international version.
This of course, doesn’t came as a surprise to most of us given that the Lenovo’s VP Alex Chen Yu had earlier revealed that the company felt having ZUK’s customized ZUI will boost the appeal of Motorola’s smartphones in the Chinese market. The company’s decision to switch away from stock Android UI to a more unique UI is ultimately a result of the disappointing sales figure of Moto handsets in the home market which explains why the ZUI is limited only to Moto Z2 Play produced for the Chinese market.
However, there is also a possibility that the ZUI could be rolled out to the international versions in future if it proved to be successful this time round.
