Recent reports have claimed that Motorola is working on a 5G version of the Motorola Razr clamshell phone that went official in November last year. Leakster Evan Blass speculated that it may go official by the end of this month. After months of leaks, Motorola has finally confirmed that it will be launching the next Razr phone will be debuting on Sept. 9.
The original name of the next Razr phone is not known yet. The rumor mill is referring to it as Razr 2020 and Razr 5G. The launch date poster released by the company does not reveal any information on the specs and features of the device.
Past reports have revealed that the major attraction of the Motorola Razr 2020 is that it will arrive with 5G support. The Snapdragon 710 SoC which was made available on the original Razr is expected to be swapped by Snapdragon 765G chipset. The handset may come with some design changes. It is speculated that the capacitive fingerprint reader placed on the chin of the original model could be relocated to the right edge of the device.
The Motorola Razr 5G may come with a 6.2-inch display that supports Full HD+ resolution. For capturing selfies, the phone may feature an improved selfie camera of 20-megapixel.
The handset will be loaded with Android 10 OS. It could be housing a 2,845mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It could be sporting a rear camera of 48-megapixel. The foldable phone may come with 8 GB of RAM and built-in storage of 256 GB. It is expected to arrive in a new color of Mercury Silver.
