Recently, an Indian tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore shared a leaked shot of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 9 phone. Soon, multiple live shots of the phone appeared online to reveal that the phone will be available in as many as three color options.
The new images show the Redmi 9 in colors like blue, green and purple. The new images again reiterate that the handset has a round-ring in which a vertical camera setup and a fingerprint scanner is placed.
As it can be seen in the new images, the Redmi 9’s vertical camera strip features three lenses. The fourth lens is on the right along with an LED flash. It is speculated that the camera setup includes a 13-megapixel main lens, an 8-mgeapixel superwide lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The Redmi 9 is rumoured to be powered by the Helio G80 SoC from MediaTek. It is the same chipset that powers the Realme 6i phone. There is no word on the other specs of the device.
Last year’s Redmi 8 phone had featured a massive battery of 5,000mAh capacity. The battery was coupled with 18W fast charging through USB-C. There is a possibility that the successor phone may retain the same battery and charging capabilities.
Hopefully, the rumor mill will speak more details on the Redmi 9 phone in the coming weeks. The handset is likely to go official in April. Just as the Redmi 8A had accompanied Redmi 8 phone last year, the Chinese manufacturer may announce the Redmi 9A handset along with Redmi 9.
