Earlier this year, Redmi unveiled the Redmi K50 Gaming, Redmi K50, and Redmi K50 Pro smartphones in China. Among these models, the K50 Gaming is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It appears that the company could be planning to introduce the new K50 series of smartphones in the home market. There is a possibility that the rumored Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro may debut as early as next month (August) in China.
Yesterday, Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing, said a K50 series phone with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will be coming soon. Several news sources have said that Xiaomi plans to release the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro flagship phones in markets outside China.
Speculations are rife that these devices will be rebranded as the Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro in China. The first one is said to have the Dimensity 8100 chipset, and the second one could have the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
It is speculated that the Xiaomi 12T Pro will be equipped with a 120Hz OLED display. It will be powered by the SD8+G1 chip and have 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM. The device will come with 256 GB of built-in storage. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
The 12T Pro is likely to debut as Xiaomi’s first smartphone with a 200-megapixel camera. As far as the Xiaomi 12T is concerned, it is expected to feature a 50-megapixel main camera and carry support for 67W fast charging. The remaining specifications of the Xiaomi 12T could be identical to the Pro model. These exact specs could be available on the Redmi K50S and K50S Pro.
