HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia 6 2nd generation smartphone as its first handset for 2018. It has arrived as a successor for the original Nokia 6 that had brought back the Nokia brand in January 2017.
Nokia 6 2nd Gen Specifications and Features
The second generation Nokia 6 is slightly smaller and thicker compared to the older the original model. Hence, even after featuring a compact chassis, it features the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD Full HD screen that is found on the predecessor phone as it features slightly slim bezels.
The Snapdragon 630 chipset powers the smartphone along with 4 GB of RAM. It features a fast charging enabled 3,000mAh battery. The handset comes in 32 GB and 64 GB storage models. It also carries support for microSD card through hybrid SIM slot.
For photography, it has the same 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel frontal camera that are found on the first-generation Nokia 6. With OZO audio recording onboard, the Nokia 6 2nd Gen can record 360-degree surround sound. When it connectivity, the smartphone offers features like USB-C, 3.5mm headphone port, Bluetooth, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi. The Nokia 6 2nd Gen seems to lack NFC even though it was present on the predecessor model.
Nokia 6 2nd Gen Pricing and Availability
The two storage variants of the Nokia 6 2nd Gen comes are respectively priced at 1,499 Yuan (~$231) and 1,699 Yuan (~$262). The smartphone is currently available only in China through Suning. The reservations of the phone have started in China and its shipments will start on Jan. 10.
